On Tuesday, July 8, the community team of Sint Kwinten gathered for its annual day of reflection in the facilities of Aid to the Church in Need, located at Park Abbey in in Heverlee.
We were welcomed by volunteer Mia, who showed us around the wonderful world of Bradi Barth’s paintings.
Bradi Barth (1922-2007), a Swiss artist with Flemish roots, was known for her religious paintings full of simplicity and inner depth. Her style is soft and hushed, with warm colors and round, open faces. She was completely inspired by her faith, and her work is loved for the tender way it brings the divine close by. In her works one recognizes the style of the Flemish Primitives.
This permanent exhibition featuring the work of Bradi Barth is an excellent faith-sharing opportunity. The unique Bible cabinet presents 38 Biblical scenes in a very accessible way. The Rosary Series introduces you to the mysteries of the Rosary. Twenty paintings about Jesus’ infancy, passion, and Resurrection, as well as some Marian works, are ideal tools for narrating our faith. The permanent exhibition is free to visit on weekdays from 9:00 until 16:00.

Father Tuli presided at the Eucharist in the chapel of Aid to the Church in Need. He again expressed his gratitude and appreciation for our Sint-Kwinten community and asked that we continue to pray for him as he carries on his ministry in a different way in South Sudan, to which he leaves on July 14.
After Mass, we had lunch together at De Abdijmolen. During the meal Mark presented Fr. Tuli with a nice sum, from the second collection at Mass on Sunday 6 May, to benefit a women’s project in the refugee camp where he will be working.
In the afternoon, we continued our discussions as a community team in preparation for the coming work year.
