Rite of Acceptance for three new catechumens

Jesus replied, “The first is this: Hear, O Israel! The Lord our God is Lord alone! You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength. The second is this: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other commandment greater than these.”
– Mark 12, 29-31

On Sunday 3 November, we again were privileged to receive three catechumens into the faith community of Sint-Kwinten during the Rite of Acceptance – Tong, Denvash, and Dongqi – together with their sponsors, Charles, Pierre, and Fr. Paul. They will continue their faith journey with the other catechumens and candidates, toward the reception of the initiation sacraments next spring during the Easter Vigil in the Sint-Pieterskerk.
Together with the others – Hannah, Yiji, Gabriel, Emma and Alba – they will participate in catechesis in the Sint-Kwintenshuis every fortnight. With the six Dutch-speaking candidates – Freerk, Waleska, Grace, Rafaël, Dorien, and Arne – they are the hope of our Church as well as a challenge to us to take our Christian life seriously day by day. We pray for them, their sponsors, and their catechists.
