After the four weeks of preparation of Advent, the faith community of Sint-Kwinten, along with billions of Christians worldwide, was privileged to celebrate the wonder-filled Feast of Christmas.
It began on the evening of the 24th of December with a well-attended children’s Christmas celebration, after which the Ukrainian faith community celebrated the Christmas Liturgy.
We also celebrated the Christmas Mass during the Night at 23:00 in an abundantly filled church, listening to the words of the Prophet Isaiah: “For a child is born to us, a son is given us; upon his shoulder dominion rests. They name him Wonder-Counsellor, God-Hero, Father-Forever, Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 9:5).
On Christmas Morning, our celebration of the Eucharist was embellished by the Schola Cantorum, and we could gaze in wonder at the nativity scene together with the children, with hearts grateful for all the efforts of our volunteers during this past year.
