As pilgrims of hope, we visited four Leuven Marian sites on Thursday 6 February 2025, at the start of this Jubilee Year: Our Lady of Peace in Sint-Kwinten, Our Lady Seat of Wisdom in Sint-Pieter, Our Lady ‘ter Koorts’ in Sint-Jozef, and Our Lady Mediatrix in the chapel of the monastery of the Montfort Fathers in Kessel-Lo.
This pilgrimage walk, organized by Pastoral Zone Leuven aan de Dijle and ‘Maria in Beweging’ (Montfort Fathers), brought together about forty people of all ages and nationalities.
A reflection and prayer moment was held in each church, and on the street praying the rosary alternated with singing in different languages.
In the chapel of the Montfort Fathers, Father Frans Fabry gave a stirring reflection, drawing on a statue of Saint Louis-Marie Grignion de Montfort (1673-1716) and a statue of Mary.
And Mary said: “My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord; my spirit rejoices in God my Savior. For he has looked upon his handmaid’s lowliness; behold, from now on will all ages call me blessed. The Mighty One has done great things for me, and holy is his name” (Luke 1: 46-49).
