Evangelization and Catechesis
Every Christian is challenged, here and now, to be actively engaged in evangelization; indeed, anyone who has truly experienced God’s saving love does not need much time or lengthy training to go out and proclaim that love. (Pope Francis, Evangelii Gaudium)
The purpose of our Evangelization and Catechesis Commission is to bring the Good News of Jesus Christ to people both inside and outside our community through public actions and public prayer.
The members of this Commission organize such events as a Corpus Christi procession and a pilgrimage to the Shrine of Our Lady in Basse-Wavre. Further, those engaged in this ministry are responsible for outreach to youth and to KU Leuven students, especially at the KU Leuven Orientation Days. Our community also offers children’s catechesis and the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA).
Required preparation for First Communion, Comfirmation and Marriage is given by the Pastoral Zone. Additional catechese and preparation is possible at Sint-Kwinten.
