Advent concert in Sint-Kwinten’s church

Sint-Kwinten’s Cappella Concinite and the Chamber Choir of Maastricht, both conducted by Ludo Claesen, invite you to an Advent concert, ‘O Come Immanuel’, in the Sint-Kwintenskerk on Saturday 8 December at 20:00.
The central work of this concert is a composition by the conductor. Ero Cras is an Advent cantata for two choirs, spoken voice, organ, and instrumental ensemble. The cantata is built around the seven O-antiphons sung in the liturgy the week before Christmas. The “O” refers to the word “O” with which all the songs begin (O Sapientia, O Oriens, O Emmanuel, …). Together they express the longing for the coming of Jesus, the Redeemer. The first letters of the titles are the words ERO CRAS, “tomorrow I will be there”. In addition, both choirs will perform Advent songs by Grieg, Holst, Lauridsen, Mendelssohn, Nees, and others.
Tickets cost 18 euros at the door, or 15 euros if purchased beforehand via info@concinite.be.
