‘Soep op de stoep’

Warm soup. It’s tasty, healthy, and a warm gesture that doesn’t take a lot of effort. Following both the 9:00 English Mass and 11:00 Dutch Mass on 2 December, the First Sunday of Advent, the English-speaking and Dutch-speaking parishioners of Sint-Kwinten’s will organize Soep op de stoep (Soup on the Sidewalk) to support Samen Tegen Armoede (Together against Poverty).
By organizing this joint Advent solidarity activity, we aim to raise awareness about the 1,7 million people in Belgium who in live in poverty or on the verge of poverty. We also will be helping Samen Tegen Armoede with their efforts to create a better life and more opportunities for those who live in poverty in our society.
We warmly invite you to enjoy a cup of warm soup, either outside the church door or in the cozy atmosphere of Sint-Kwintenshuis, in support of Samen Tegen Armoede. If you would like to make or serve soup, please contact our Community Building Diakonia commissioners:event@catholicchurchleuven.be.
